On this occasion Lieutenant Commander Leslie Edward Ayling Royal Navy leaves the Royal Navy to embark on his new career with his wife Margaret and her parents, Anthony Buttigieg and Lucia Diaz del Valle Guerrero de Buttigieg, directors of Ayling Real Estate Gibraltar. They opened their first offices in 1977 in 5 Casemates House, Grand Casemates Square, Gibraltar from where Margaret is fully licensed in Gibraltar.
Leslie Edward Ayling, Anthony Buttigieg founded the estate agency in Gibraltar in 1977, and his wife Lucia Diaz del Valle Guerrero de Buttigieg, directors of Ayling Real Estate run a family business from 5 Casemates House, Grand Casemates Square, Gibraltar.
The fourth director Margaret Ayling daughter of Tony and Lucy, wife of Leslie used to be a teacher but worked in the estate agency in the evenings until she gave up teaching a couple of years later to take on estate agency full time.
Once Ayling Real Estate Gibraltar, took over the sole rights to sell the entire development Punta Almina Sabinillas, Manilva they opened another office in Cazes, 143/145 Main Street as well as a site office in Punta Alminas, Sabinillas, Manilva.
They sold the whole development of one, two and three bedroom apartments and commercial units off the plan. Soon the same developer gave them the sole rights to market Aldea Beach and Aldea Hills Manilva. Another site office was opened there in what used to be the “Chalet de Lola Flores”, which is where the famous spanish Flamenco singer/film star filmed.
The Aylings and Buttigiegs went on to build and promote houses in Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro, Sotogrande and in Sotogrande itself. Soon after that they opened an office in Galerias de Paniagua 15 Sotogrande Costa and a few years after that they opened another office in Puerto Deportivo de Sotogrande, Spain.
Tony and Lucy ran the Gibraltar end whilst Leslie and Margaret dedicated themselves to the spanish estate agency Ayling International Property Services Sotogrande Spain.
Leslie died on 28th September 2005, Tony who was an accountant by profession went on looking after the accounts of the business despite being a youthful ninety year old.
He was a pillar of strength to his daughter Margaret always there with his support and advice. Sadly Anthony Buttigieg died on 1st December 2013.
He is survived by his wife Lucia Diaz del Valle Guerrero de Buttigieg, his son Francis Anthony Buttigieg and his daughter Margaret Gladys Ayling who is now running the estate agency. Despite the recesssion it is still going strong.
